Downloading and Viewing Garmin Handheld GPS Data

Setting Default Units

Saving Coordinates and Importing to Excel

Click File in the top left, and then slick Save As. Choose where to save the file. Set the file type to Text (Tab delimited).

This file will be a raw file of all points and runway points equally a tab delimited text file.

Separating UTM Coordinates to Easting and Northing:

ane. Make sure there is an empty column to the right of the UTM coordinates column.

Instructions for Downloading Garmin GPS using Base Camp

Downloading Data

i. Connect Garmin GPS to computer using appropriate USB cable.

2. Go to 'This PC' and find Garmin GPS as an external connection.

iii. Re-create appropriate .gpx files over to 'Field Work' binder in your projection binder.

4. Open Base Camp and select the File dropdown and select 'Import into_____' with the bare being the Base of operations Camp database you lot will exist importing the .gpx file into.

Changing Units in basecamp (If needed)

1. Deselect any coordinates

2. Click Edit and then Options.

Export
